Vanilla Waffles
Serves 4-6
3 Frenz eggs
115g butter, melted
1½ cups (350ml) milk
1 Tbsp Heilala Organic Vanilla Paste Single Fold or Heilala Organic Vanilla Extract Single Fold
1 Tbsp sugar
Pinch of salt
2 cups Montebello OO Flour sifted
1 Tbsp baking powder
In a bowl whisk the eggs until thick and foamy, about 2 minutes. Add the melted butter, sugar, salt, vanilla and milk. Mix. Sift in flour and baking powder. Mix gently until combined but do not over mix.
Preheat a non-stick waffle iron to medium-high or follow manufacturer’s instructions. Lightly brush with melted butter or oil. Ladle out about ⅔ cup waffle batter into the hot waffle iron. Close the lid and bake until the waffle is crisp and golden brown, about 4 to 5 minutes. Repeat with the remaining batter. Keep the waffles warm in a 150°C oven until ready to serve.
Serve drizzled with Stams Apple Syrup, Heilala Organic Vanilla Syrup or maple syrup. Delicious sprinkled with icing sugar and berries or sauteéd summer stone fruits alongside.
