We began Sabato in 1993, to supply artisan quality ingredients from Europe - at that point mainly from Italy. Over the past sixteen years we have grown considerably to become a leading food importer and distributor, catering to the needs of chefs and ‘foodies’ throughout New Zealand.
 We source fine foods primarily from Italy, Spain and France. Most of our suppliers are small (often family run) businesses that use traditional methods of production to create outstanding products. We regularly travel to Europe to check product quality, collect information on trends and source new interesting products/suppliers. As a result, Sabato has been first to introduce many key ingredients to the New Zealand market, such as La Chinata smoked paprika, Calogiuri Vincotto, El Navarrico piquillo pimientos and Valrhona chocolate, and we enjoy continuing to make exciting additions to the range.
Sabato supplies many of the great restaurants and fine food stockists in New Zealand, as well as many food enthusiasts who shop at our Auckland premises located in Mt Eden. We encourage you to visit us and taste our range of products at 57 Normanby Rd, Mt Eden. Our showroom hours are:
Monday – Friday: 9.00am to 5.00pm
Saturday: 9.00am to 5.00pm
Sunday: 10.00am to 4.00pm
We are closed on public holidays.
